Hi everyone! First of all happy holidays and new year! ?
My name is Xenon97 and I'm a new user of the forum. I'm a Italian collector, precisely I live in Rome. My passions? Constantinian coins, japanese coins of the Tokugawa period and various modern and contemporary coins such as Morgan dollars. From this summer I started collecting assignats because I like the historical period of the French revolution, and in recent months I have discovered the existence of these coins - medals, so I immediately wanted to get at least one!
This morning the 5 sols in question is arrived, but I noticed that the letters in the outline are colored and I have some doubts. Is the coin authentic? If yes, what is the correct classification? The diameter is about 39 mm while the weight about 28 g. Unfortunately I don't have a precision libra and caliper at this time, so the figures are approximate.
Thanks in advance and sorry for the English language. Also, I apologies in advance to the moderators if I posted in the wrong thread. ?
Soon,
Xenon97
